The Best Places To Propose in Big Sky, Montana
Posted: 02/10/2009

Plan  on popping the big question to your significant other while visiting Big Sky? There are so many places one could ask that once in a  lifetime question during a romantic getaway in this very special area. However, we feel there are several places that stand out for such a special moment. Depending on what time of year you are planning your visit, we have come up with some great suggestions to help narrow down the seemingly long list.

Love to hike? During the months of July and August, the wildflowers are in full bloom and offer a color palette hard to beat. We think the trail to Beehive Basin with the spectacular alpine lake at the end of the trail are a beautiful setting for such a romantic proposal. A picnic lunch amidst a carpet brilliant fuchsia  of the Indian Paintbrush and intense blue mountain Lupine will be a memory hard to surpass.

However, if you are thinking of taking a well deserved ski vacation, pop the question while riding the tram to the top of Lone Peak. While it is not for the faint of heart or the shrinking lily, this setting will be a memorable one for the ski enthusiast who welcomes the incredible experience of a challenging run at the end of ride. If you aren't prone to asking the question in front of fellow tram riders, wait to reach the top where the views will only enhance the excitement of the question in hand.

Another romantic ski vacation event that would make a memorable occasion would be a sleigh ride dinner at either Lone Mountain Ranch or the 320 Ranch. A soft moonlight ride over sparkling, powder white snow will take you back into a simpler time period where the atmosphere is totally void of technology. A beautiful tapestry for a backdrop to the night's memorable moment.

And for those who share the love of fly fishing, the Gallatin River has many private inlets in which to plan the event. Maybe wait for a Fall setting of neon yellow aspen trees against a crisp blue Montana sky. Maybe ask your companion to help untangle your line only to have a sparkling diamond ring attached to the end of the line. You can figure out the details- just don't lose the ring to the swift currents!

Ad finally, for those who love the luxuries of life, how about a much needed duo massage at the end of an activity filled day in the great outdoors. The Spa at Moonlight offers the perfect location for a sinfully, sensuous massage. Then follow that with an incredible gourmet dinner at The Timbers. Take the time to order dessert and a celebratory bottle of bubbly. A perfect lead in to the grand finale!

Whatever you chose, make it one that fits you and your loved one. There are many ways to make your proposal the perfect one for the perfect person. The sky's the limit. After all, you are under The Big Sky!
